After their “Act Like a Man” episode, the Perrys thought it would be beneficial to also have a conversation on womanhood.
When Jackie first became a believer, she felt as though many books she read on womanhood leaned heavily on cultural contexts or norms instead of Biblical frameworks. As she has become more comfortable in her femininity, she’s learned more about what it looks like to show up as a woman in everything God has called her to, whether that be marriage, motherhood, or ministry. Jackie and Preston discuss women’s unique interpretations of scripture because of experiences men can’t relate to, why a wife’s submission to her husband is an act of tremendous strength, and how women’s voices can be prioritized and dignified in the church.

Jackie broke down submission so well. The fear to submit to my husband is soo real, but my fear and love and reverence for the Lord is greater! So if that what he calls me to do, I will do it. And it has completely changed my marriage for better.

If I believe that Jackie is still a practicing lesbian or longing for that lifestyle, unhappy with her husband and kids, etc, then I don’t have to believe the Word she preaches. I can ignore the conviction that comes from her lessons and Bible studies. That’s why so many people want to slander her. She’s holding up a mirror and they don’t like what she’s showing them about themselves thru faithful preaching of God’s Word.

I'm not lying when i came to faith the lord lead me to Jackie hill perry...as an ex lesbian who was in a relationship with a woman...i walked away from that life style and gave it to the lord ..the lord is still healing me even tho i get tempted sometimes my relationship with my temptations has change ...I'm Ghanaian i feel like Jackie don't even understand how God is using her

I prayed this morning to find Biblical teaching about marriage. It's an area where I (and so much in my community) need to grow. And, here my precious Heavenly Father brings this to me. I pray to not only hear the words but actually do them. Lord, help me 🙏🏼
