Just remember, Jesus meets you where you are and He loves you too much to leave you where He found you...
Come out of the sin, and go the way of the Lord.

This isn’t the Jesus I heard about growing up… this is the One I met in my broken moments.

(I think) ……This song isn’t meant for those who treat God or sin casually.
It’s for the ones who have never fully experienced the depth of a loving Heavenly Father.

For those who have been hurt…
misunderstood by people who claimed to represent Him…
or shaped by pain from parents who couldn’t reflect His heart.

This is for the ones who have only known religion, but not relationship.
Who have heard about God but haven’t yet felt His love.

    I’m praying over this song
that it reaches the broken places,
and that it reveals the true heart of the Father

“The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love.” — Psalm 103:8

Thank God he forgives again and again but let us not get confused... It is not ok to keep sinning, knowing that you will be forgiven.

Edit: it seems that a number of people stopped reading the original comment after, "it is not ok to keep sinning". For clarity, there is a very important part after the comma. Please refer to Romans 6:1-2 for the source.

Jesus loves us and accepts us as we are when we come to Him. We accept His righteousness and the gift of salvation for what He did for us on the cross, that we could never earn. But then He changes us from WITHIN. He says follow me, turn from your sin and walk in obedience and His grace, because we love Him.

I sobbed hearing this live in Bridgeport CT & just sobbed all over again “I was told he would save me if I showed up to church and I shut my mouth”- I went to church & Catholic school my entire life & I will never forget the day a priest told me to say some hail marys and come to church more and stop asking god why when I walked into church 7 years into infertility after my 6th miscarriage looking for guidance from a god I realized only through my worst pain I didn’t really know at all personally.

I didn’t find Jesus in a church. He found me. Broken on the floor shattered in a million pieces with very little hope. And he saved me. He helped me. He healed me. Through worship, through the bible, and with time I have gone through EVERYTHING this song expresses. And I’m so grateful for the Jesus I know now! And also grateful for the pain that allowed me to find the jesus you sing about in this song. A friend.❤

It healed something in me getting to worship with thousands of other people at your concert. To hear before this song you talking about church hurt and being hurt by people in a church. And to get to be surrounded in a stadium praising the Jesus I know now!

Brandon I doubt you will ever read this but if you do I just want to say thank you for this song & ignore any hate you may get from people who might be triggered by this song. I haven’t really known where to go on my own journey with God and your music has given me a place to call “home” and says so much I can’t speak. Thanks to you both for this song!

Perfect timing you two! He laid that price he suffered that misery just to hang on the cross to show us all how much he loves us. Remember tomorrow isn’t just a day. It is the day that changed all of our lives for eternity.

This song isn't about condoning sin. It's about breaking the lie that we have to be perfect for God to love us. None of us are perfect. That's why we need Jesus ❤

Edit - A lot of people are misunderstanding my comment. I am NOT saying we shouldn't try to be like Jesus. I am NOT saying it's okay to sin. It's not.

I'm speaking as someone who almost lost her faith because of legalism. Because of people like the Pharisees. Before I "met" Jesus for myself.

I'm saying a relationship with Jesus is a very different thing from your everyday religion. That He doesn't hate us because we mess up - and we WILL mess up, because we are human, even when we strive for perfection. Understanding what His love is really like made me work to be better and be more like Him more than legalist fear-mongering and stone cold, hateful "Christians" ever did.

Maybe I'm wrong but that's what this song seemed to be speaking on to me, and it had me ugly crying grateful tears the first time I heard it. It reminds me of the parable of the Prodigal Son. If you haven't read it... you should ❤

It’s important we also tell the world to repent and turn to Jesus. He didn’t shake a fist but he did use a whip on those misusing his church.

0:46 I remember that when I was at his concert, he was talking about how his friend said the Jesus I know now isn’t the Jesus I learned about when I was little Brandon Lake said that could turn into a song and we were the first one to get to hear actually at that concert he said that he was gonna sing it with Lainey Wilson, and so it was a really good time

This describes my "come to Jesus" moment back in 2023. I was broken and run roughshod by people who I thought loved me. I'd had a God encounter Who called me His warrior, but a month later i was on my hands and knees crying out for repentance and peace and I've never been the same since. Mt11:28-29

There is a difference between repentance and permissiveness.
Lets not forget we will All be judged someday by Jesus and hopefully you call Him Lord and Savior.

We are the one who change. Jesus Chrissy is the same yesterday, today and forever. I thank God for that. Thank You God for your faithfulness towards us. We thank You for ALL of Your Promises and ALL of YOUR GOODNESS. We speak Jesus over our families. Shine through the shadows, burn like a fire. We LOVE YOU LORD. Amen
