“They just can’t get my nose right!” That is comedy! Not a red flag, because this is not real life

Sorry, but this "red flag" concept bothers me.. even as a young woman😅 I feel like we can no longer tolerate other people's flaws, their mistakes...let's remember that we are all imperfect beings, whether we're men or women (sorry if my English is bad, I'm not English)🙏

3:35 Eugene has a bit of a complicated life from a being born into royalty that his birth father send him and his former subjects to get away from the black rocks from spreading and too dangerous, growing up in an orphanage with his best friend and reading the adventures of Flynn Rider, becoming a thief by working with the Baron, abandoning his former fiancée at the altar, continuing his thief career with the Stabbington twins that is until by ditching them and he uncovered the hidden tower and unbeknownst to him that had made a turning point in his life. After getting to know Rapunzel (and her emotional struggles after getting out that tower). Well anyway, the point is Eugene came such a long way and currently working as captain of the guards.

Because of videos like this and people who think this way, I think Disney 0:15 - went to a very extreme in eliminating romance, I mean: "mmmm clearly people complained about all the romances"

Respectfully I don't feel like they're all red flags because some of these men went through something in their pass and is why they are who they are and still ended up being good men in the end

1) I got that you literally described what happened in the movie, but I don’t understand why you’re blaming Eric, given that, first of all, the situation he found himself in was objectively absurd, a situation for which he was in no way to blame (unless, of course, one were to reproach him for having altruistically risked his own life for his dog, which would be even more absurd), with a girl who saved his life at sea, sang him a beautiful song, and then mysteriously vanished—so he was a bit, realistically confused when, just a short time later, he finds another girl on the beach who bears an uncanny resemblance to the one who saved him, but who is unfortunately mute—and with a crazy, old 65-70 year-old witch who disguised herself as a younger one, who casted a spell on him, depriving him of his free will to force him to marry her (I love how literally no one focuses on this, preferring to just ignore the whole hypnosis thing, to call him a cheater—I’m just generally talking here—or to say that he only wanted the voice, when I can’t even imagine the deep controversy that would have started if the whole situation had been identical, but if Eric was a girl, “Erica”, maybe… I hate double standards so much). Also, this whole situation (the fact that he keeps thinking about both the girl who saved him (feeling grateful to her, in addition to being obviously captivated by her—and the mute girl he found on the beach), while simultaneously wanting to let go of what was likely a fantasy (since no one believed him) and simply be happy with a real, flesh-and-blood person—and that he is torn between the two for these reasons), is deeply connected to his character arc and his path of growth throughout the whole movie.
Animated Eric's character development is not all about finding the girl of his dreams, like you may think, but it’s also connected to many other things, like the concept of letting go of the idealization of the “right” partner, but also to the concept of being less indecisive, of staying grounded, firmly rooted in his goals (which in Eric's case were BOTH political and marital, as I’ll explain later), and not being fooled by dreams alone, because this is exactly what Grimsby tells him many times throughout the whole movie, but the fact is that Eric is reluctant to follow his advice, because, as I’ll explain later, it concerns his responsibilities as a Prince and a life he has NOT chosen.
During the whole movie, Grimaby constantly gives Eric warnings and advices, which are important, because they're always tied to Eric's character development, which isn't ONLY about to getting married and finding the right girl, as you may believe, because that wasn't his path of maturation's main topic, but it was JUST CONNECTED to it. Eric's character development is ACTUALLY connected to many things: first of all, it might initially seem like his character arc is tied to the concept of staying grounded, firmly rooted in his goals (which in Eric's case were BOTH political and marital, as I’ll explain later), and not being fooled by dreams alone (I wrote "it might initially seem" because this isn't actually the case, but I'll explain that some paragraphs after this), because this is exactly what Grimsby tells him many times throughout the whole movie, but the fact is that Eric is reluctant to follow his advice, because, as I’ll explain later, it concerns his responsibilities as a Prince and a life he has NOT chosen.
In fact, Eric can't do whatever he wants, also because in the opening scene of the 1989 movie, Grimsby reminds Eric not to pay attention to all "this nautical nonsense", and even if that sentence seems simple on the surface, it actually means much more, because Grimsby is implicitly reminding Eric not to believe too much in the myths the sailors were telling him, since they are not people of his same rank anyway, since he is a Prince (and considering how much time Eric spends on ships, this is probably not the first time his butler tells him something like that, even though he agreed to accompany him anyway both out of a sense of duty, and because, deep down, Grimsby is actually happy to see Eric happy in a place where he feels comfortable, because he is fond of him and knows how much pressure he has to endure, being such a young Prince), and he is also reminding him of all his responsibilities, because in fact, being a prince, Eric has a kingdom to rule, so he must keep his feet on the ground, and he cannot allow himself to believe in mythological sea creatures, in things that Grimsby believes to be only dreams, while Eric would like to believe in all of this—given his deep connection to the sea—he remains undecided, as he lacks certainty that it is true; this indecision plays out throughout the movie in his feelings toward the girl who saved him, for even though he has not yet rationally accepted it, the irrational part of him likely already feels she has some connection to the sea. Here is another reason why it is important for Eric’s character to to remain undecided and to hold onto feelings for his savior until the very end: for him, giving up on believing what happened to him on the beach would probably be like admitting that Grimsby had been right all along.
Also, from the very first time Ariel sees him on the ship during Eric’s birthday party, we can already clearly notice that he’s very humble and defies the rules of his society from the beginning, just like Ariel: despite being a prince, he prefers much more spending time on ships, on long voyages with sailors, helping them in their work and listening to their sea myths, precisely because that was exactly what ACTUALLY mattered to him, it was actually something he KNEW he enjoyed doing, since he hadn't chosen to be a Prince at all instead, because he had that title/duty since birth. In fact, I believe that if he could choose, Eric would be MUCH MORE happy to be a sailor rather than a prince: he enjoys sailing much more than staying in the palace, because he was NOT comfortable with that kind of life (EXACTLY like Ariel, who dislikes attending Triton's concerts because she loves searching for new human objects too much). He also usually dresses very simply, exactly like a sailor (for most of the film he wears only a shirt, trousers, and boots, with a red sash around his waist as his only adornment, perhaps also because he believes that this attire is more comfortable for sailing). He allows both the sailors and his servants to be very informal with him or even call him by his first name. He chose to celebrate his birthday on a ship with the sailors, playing music and dancing with them (whereas a prince would normally have decided to throw a big party in a castle).

Happy I’m not the only one who lists all the red flags in men in movies…can you list all of the red flags of Anakin Skywalker next? 🤣

Real question: Flynn Rider and the part where they can't get his nose right... To me he gave the vibes where he desired a trophy of his successful criminal career, and the fact that his wanted poster didn't look like him bothered him, because who is that? That's not Flynn Rider lol Like what's the point of keeping his wanted poster if it doesn't even look like him?
@JillianP-y4d
Flynn might be a “red flag” but he’s still funny. And yeah, everyone agrees Snotlout is a red flag and really dumb

Seeing how you mentioned Eric, I wonder why Charming is not here as well. Is he not guilty of the same thing?
Many of the things you self-righteously called red flags aren't even that valid. They are just simple character flaws that can affect relationships and should be worked out by both partners.
People like Gaston are the standards of red flaggedness.
But let's leave all that and say I you were right. Now why don't you also make a video of the red flags of the female Disney characters? I'll like to see that.
