Vitamin A is essential for healthy skin, eyes, and mucous membranes. It helps maintain the protective barriers throughout your body, including the mucus layer of the eye and the lipid layer that protects your skin.

Vitamin A deficiency can lead to dry, rough skin and changes in the eyes. You may even develop rough, bumpy skin or corns on your feet.

Many people mistake beta-carotene for vitamin A, but these two compounds are not the same. Retinol is the active form of vitamin A, while beta-carotene is the precursor, and most of it does not convert into the active form.

You need adequate bile and gallbladder function for vitamin A to work. Bile helps extract fat-soluble vitamins from the food you eat. If you've had your gallbladder removed, or have a bile deficiency or a fatty liver, it could be the reason you’re deficient in vitamin A.

Focus on increasing foods high in vitamin A rather than taking a supplement if you’re deficient.

As a Registered Nurse I find these lectures excellent. (I love Oysters). People aren’t eating enough (normal) food! When I grew up we ate eggs, fish, bacon, butter, milk, meat, nuts, salads, vegetables etc. I think these foods get such a bad rap except the veggies.

My daughter had the bumps on her arms throughout childhood. As an adult, she eliminated gluten from her diet and they went away.

....but another question to ask is...how many people experiencing dry mouth, dry eyes, skin issues....are really UNDIAGNOSED SJOGRENS? Drs don't take these complaints/symptoms as something that could be potentially serious. They take them as "separate" and/or simple "annoyances" and tell their patients they are just simply "signs of aging"....never connecting the dots

Is it possible that you've already published all your valuable information in a book with visuals like you put on your dry erase board? I need to be able to make quick reference to remind myself what vitamins and minerals do what and what other vitamins and minerals are needed to facilitate the work of the first, etc. A book at hand is more efficient, I feel, than searching for the right YouTube video.
