In this episode, I explore the concept of reactive abuse - how narcissists can provoke their partners to react in ways that make the partner appear to be the abuser, when in fact they are the victim of the narcissist's manipulation.
I also discuss the feeling of not recognising oneself due to the changes in behaviour brought about by being in a relationship with a narcissist. I explain the dynamics of reactive abuse and provide guidance on how to navigate this challenging situation safely.
In this episode, we will explore:
- Understanding Reactive Abuse: What it is and how narcissists use it to manipulate their partners
- Navigating Safety and Exit Strategies: Prioritising safety when leaving a relationship with a narcissist
- Managing Emotional Reactions: Techniques for regulating the nervous system to avoid being provoked

I remember a few years back, before I found out any of his secrets, my ex was giving me the silent treatment so I ended up doing this but over text… he screenshotted the amount of times I texted him and sent it to his friend saying “don’t poke the bear,” laughing at me.

It hurts the most when the Narcissist in your home is your adult Son.

Please take the time to self reflect and ask yourself.. is what they keep repeating something that I should think about and consider? It is quite possible that you are stone walling them and they are reacting to you. That if you would take the time to listen and meet them in what they are stuck repeating.. that the issue could be resolved and you could find that the problem was in fact you and not them. This is what my ex did to me.. and it was incredibly annoying. Fast forward.. her son is now in prison for 6 years, her daughter wasn’t able to graduate college, she committed fraud, and she jumped right into another relationship to play mom to someone else’s kids after me.. and she said all the things about me that you are saying about your ex.. the problem may in fact be you not listening to him.
