Today marks the launch of our rebranded podcast, No Visible Bruises sharing real survivor stories of narcissistic abuse, domestic abuse and coercive control, and the long-lasting physiological impact of trauma not just the psychological.
In our very first episode, we sit down with Kirstie Haysman, who bravely shares her experience of narcissistic abuse and how it intertwines with her diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis.
This conversation is one not to miss.
We explore: • How chronic conditions like arthritis, fibromyalgia, IBS and others can be linked to the trauma of relational abuse • What happens in the body when we are exposed to long-term stress and emotional abuse • How healing is possible when we understand the connection between the nervous system and our physical health • The importance of working with the body, not against it
If you’ve ever wondered whether your chronic symptoms could be connected to your past and present experiences of narcissistic abuse, domestic abuse & coercive control… If you’ve ever felt unseen in your pain… If you’ve ever questioned the invisible impact of emotional abuse…
This episode is for you.
Listen now, share with someone who needs it, and join us in shining a light on what’s been hidden for far too long.

I've been with my partner for 21 years now. The story is so long, there is too much to say, but I've just told him it's over, and I will see him no more. I was a midwife when we met, and I had just been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. He promised to be there. But life with him has been so stressful that by 2013, I was in a wheelchair. That stress didn't help. When I dared go back to uni to complete a BSc in counselling and psychotherapy in 2022, I am just completing my dissertation year, despite him saying he's been supportive - no, he hasn't. The final straw was a few weeks ago when he said I was getting thicker, and thicker and thicker, and I looked old. This course has made me realise my own attachment issues, and how he has narcissistic tendencies at best. The ship has sailed, in terms of walking, but I hope being free from him helps my MS fatigue. I am so tired. Great video, brave woman!

Finding your channel has been a true gift to me. It has been since the divorce that I finally found a therapist who showed me I was not the crazy one but was married to a female covert narcissist who almost took me out.

Dreadful 😭I just got out of a 10 year marriage with a narcissist. She rearranged my whole psyche, constantly tearing down my self view for 10 years. I now have multiple chronic conditions including psoriatic arthritis and severe gastrointestinal issues, no longer able to keep solid foods down 🤮😭😭

I think this lady that has the cane's can change up her diet to eat cakes again, like try cakes with different ingredients like I like cheesecake but I eat protein pudding with vanilla pudding mix and it is a change for my cheese cake flavor, or celiac with flour to make cakes or bread, I had a narcissistic personality disorder husband for 22 years and grinding my teeth sleeping, leg/full body trimmers, I have to help my 2 daughters with their trauma, YOU CAN DO THIS TO THE LADY WITH THE Canes- massage and physical therapy your hands, and you can get your hands moving again, it took me 5 years after separated to heal myself, not your fault, you are worthy❤🎉🎉🎉😊

Do you find many that self medicate with alcohol? My only granddaughter who is 25 shows up at family gatherings, always disappears into another room for a bit & comes back more glassy eyed & smelling of wine. She as been married for only one year & 4 months, has shown up with bruises & has had a total personality change. Her new husband controls her every move & has cut off most all of her close friendships. We've only got to see her 2-3 times since she married & only in large gatherings. It's breaking my heart because she's left him several times, heals a bit emotionally & physically, but keeps going back. Her body still has not healed from a supposed skate boarding fall 6 months before her weddings & lives in constant pain. Things are only getting worse & I fear for her life at times. He has major anger issues. I'm even afraid to videos or articles because if he sees it on her phone I'm afraid he'll take it out on her. Do you have any ideae on how I can reach her or any videos about leaving a narcissistic spouse & staying away? Thank you for opening my eyes on how abuse not only effects the mind but the body too. Your amazing so I subscribed! ❤
