For nearly 2 years now, I have been sending your videos to my mom every Tuesday night (sometimes Wednesday morning). My mother is a woman who has survived a brain aneurysm, was diagnosed with kidney failure and given 6 months to live, and was on dialysis for 2 years, then had 2 kidney transplants, has beaten colon cancer, and a few weeks ago had a heart attack. She is currently in the hospital after undergoing a procedure to correct a problem related to the stent they had to put in.
We are on opposite coasts (I'm in Massachusetts and she's in California), and your videos have been given us something to bond over. These last few years, with everything going on in the country, have had us both worried, scared, mad, and sad, but you have been the one constant in both of our lives that brings us smiles and laughter. Thank you, Josh, for your consistency, humor, compassion, and your innate ability to make people think.
I will end this with a text my mom just sent me as I was writing the previous sentence. I said, "It's Josh time!" and this was her response:
"Oh! Our favorite put-a-smile on my face genius!Thank you!!💚🥰💚"

"If your elected officials can NOT listen to you, they should NOT know peace." Gave me chills.
Josh was on a podcast earlier this month, I saw it here on YT, talking about the legacy of the great Dick Gregory, and I'm seeing it here, in real time, how does a comedian become a civil rights activist? Because they pay attention. And just watching eventually becomes not enough.

Josh, you’re a philosopher and a genius: “Most of the rhetoric out there is to specifically make you feel hopeless. When you feel hopeless you don’t act. When you don’t act they win.” Thank you 🙏🏻

Nailed it!!! We love you Josh!! ❤🎉❤

Every single week I’m grateful for the knowledge that I can gather here with friends, overcome with giggles, welcome in the room, and in the company of awesome strangers. Josh, you deserve a great deal of credit for the mental health that Tuesday nights help us maintain. May all the powers that be look after you like you look after us, my friend 🖤

This man is a genius. How he spits out weekly comedy stand-up “specials” is extraordinary. Each one different.

This may legitimately be one of the most important performances of your life, and the best part about that is that it seems like that can be said of each and every one. And I fucking love that for you.

I don’t usually comment but I had to pause at the very end to take in your message of community. When you said “if you watched Hey Arnold! you’re in the generation that has to stand up” I felt like you were talking to me 😭 It feels like society is collapsing, everything is on fire, and Covid really brought out the worst in a lot of people. It’s good to know there are people who feel this way. If we break the loop today, the cycle won’t repeat tomorrow…
(Edit) and I’m glad I posted this comment 😭 I get annoyed seeing these replies in the same way I get annoyed when my therapist says going for a walk outside will make me feel better. She’s right! It’s annoying! I should drink water and join a community club and find things I can be grateful for and show up for my friends to the best of my ability. 😅 but for real, it’s good to know Josh isn’t alone, and that there are perfect strangers willing to try and pull a teeterer like me over to the light 💗💕😭

Thank you for this civics lesson, Josh! More of us have to show up to the “boring” public hearings and testify there instead of duking it out in the comments. There are millions more of us than them… our voices matter and we need to use them to advocate for a better future!

About 15 years ago, I met a guy online that said that he was 44 years old. We had one date, & I made it clear that I wasn’t interested in him romantically, but if he wanted to hang out as friends I was up for that. So one day we’re chatting and he’s telling me a story, and said something about seeing a band in the 70’s, when he was in high school 😐😑. I said - “you told me you were 44 years old, the math ain’t mathin.” He said - “Well, I FEEL like I’m 44 years old - so what?” 🤦♀️. Ya, after telling him that people don’t like liars - He got all defensive, and long story short - I told him I didn’t wanna be friends anymore 😅
