What was supposed to be the dream celebration of my 40th birthday with friends and family from across the world… turned into a nightmare I never saw coming 😩. From a luxury 8-day cruise to being detained and deported with my kids, this is the most unbelievable thing that has ever happened to me.

We were denied water even for the kids, detained in a hot office, and treated like criminals. This is not just about missing a cruise. It’s about discrimination, heartbreak, and friendships. It’s about how even in chaos, God’s faithfulness shows up.

🎥 Watch to the end to hear how this wild story ends—with COVID, tears, laughter, a singing competition, and an unexpected twist that changed my citizenship status!

Apologies for your experience in Honduras, Adeola. For decades, Nigerian passport holders have faced similar difficulties with Honduras. In 2020, I personally encountered this issue while travelling with a group, all holding valid Honduran visas in our Nigerian passports. We flew from Havana to Tegucigalpa, Honduras. While we had no problems during our transit in San Salvador, we were denied entry upon arrival in Tegucigalpa despite having all the required legal visas, even though the airline Grupo TACA verified our visas and cleared us to fly from Havana to Honduras. This was in January 2020. Just like what you experienced, we were detained, interrogated inside the airport and subsequently sent back to Cuba. The airline (Grupo TACA) refuses to refund us. This has been an ongoing problem and did not start recently. The current administration should invite the Honduran Embassy in Abuja, Nigeria, to discuss these incidents. Thank you.

What a powerful story — it deserves to be a film: “The Nigerian’s Passport Trauma.”
A journey filled with comedy, panic, rejection, confusion, unexpected support, faith, and finally... tears of joy with a U.S. passport in hand.

Get the right team and bring this story to life. Let it send a message so strong that the Nigerian government cannot ignore it.

Maybe this is why God allowed you to go through it — to spark change, to be the voice, the turning point for millions.
You can do this. And you should. You are a strong woman and so passionate. 🎉 Congratulations 🎊

The Striking reality about your story is that your family is surrounded by Beautiful People who trust in God despite all circumstances. Rom 8:28.

So sorry for this experience and congratulations for staying strong all through it.

Happy birthday in arrears dear Adeola and let’s look forward to seeing your 50th birthday In Jesus Name. Congratulations on your American citizenship.

I was completely captivated from beginning to end; you’re truly a gifted storyteller. I always enjoy your content because your energy is so high and engaging. I genuinely felt your pain, especially thinking about your children as you recounted the ordeal, but I was relieved by how things turned out in the end. Your experience reminded me of when my wife planned a cruise trip before I became a U.S. citizen—I refused to travel, fearing something similar. While listening to you, I found myself speaking in tongues, praying for a better government system in Nigeria, where citizens won’t be treated like criminals simply because of their passport. Congratulations on your U.S. citizenship journey! God bless you, God bless the USA, and God bless Nigeria.

Nigeria happening to anyone even without being in Nigeria is a whole new level of doings.
I dream of a day we revamp our lost glories and get the respect we really deserve.

It's 2:22am Nigerian time and this video has been worthwhile. Thanks for doing what you do, Adeola.
Your charisma and originaility is truly remarkable beyond my vocabulary's capacity to paint.

God keep you and your ever supportive family, always. Cheers!
