When an experienced runner decides to train for a 100-mile ultramarathon in a hostile desert, he must face the daunting task of doing something that seems impossible.

Like the runner, we on Earth must face our own great adventures, traversing a seemingly endless array of life’s peaks and valleys, in our journey back to God. But as we do so, pushing through the darkest trials and obstacles, we gain perspective about why we are here and how to ultimately succeed.

In his 2019 general conference address, “Your Great Adventure,” (https://bit.ly/3avDWrc) Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf explains that “as you remain on the path and trust in God, you will eventually find the way to your glorious destiny and back to your heavenly home.”

"Life's not about doing things perfectly but doing things intentionally.." 👌👌 Very uplifting

As a long distance runner myself, I learned this - at the moment that you first think “I’m done”, you’re only about 15% done. Just put one foot in front of the other, one stride at a time. You’ll be amazed how far you can actually travel. A lesson that applies to life in general.

I'm trying to change my habit of thanking God when the day is easy and wondering to God why when the day is hard. It's just so much easier to be grateful for it all, because all of it is a gift.

I watch this over and over again.. I am a father of two and have been unemployed for about 1 year. I've tried many things but been failed every time. I studied come follow me and watched this video with my wife this morning. Now I watch this alone again. God, it is way too hard for me unfulfilling a duty as a dad and husband. It is a real pain. I want to give up sometimes, honestly. My prayers do not seem to be heard. But this video teaches me to keep going. Will this ever be done..

"...remember ife's not about doing things perfectly. It's about doing things intentionally. It's your choices that show who you truly are, far more than your abilities. ..even if I failed I could choose to not give up." Love these lines! Reminds me of Lord of the Rings

This video means a lot. It definitely resonates with me. As a small business owner who was feeling the stress of business ownership in January 2020, I thought that that was the toughest I was going to have it. Turned out God had lessons for me to learn. But as I have had to traverse this crazy road, I have come closer to Him than I ever have been, and am a stronger person than I ever thought I would be. I too have learned the importance of life being a marathon and not a sprint. I'm still pushing forward, and bit by bit I see my business moving in the direction I always believed that it would. He has truly blessed me in the storm. Thanks for the video.

Was told this week I had broken my wrist I traveled across the world during a difficult time to pursue a career in rugby league leaving 🇳🇿 to be in 🇫🇷 away from family and friends
When the news came out this week I felt worthless felt useless ,
But as I finished training last-night and being the first one to get changed cause of rehab I seen my notifications and this very video popped up and I knew god was talking to me at that very moment

Sometimes in life we have good and bad times but it’s about remembering god through those times that’ll help us get through 🙌🏽💯

This video reminds me of who we are as spirits having a human experience. At the beginning we choose to come down and experience it all, and at first it’s so beautiful and exciting! We can go through many trials and setbacks and even fall away sometimes. But, we must choose to keep running. Keep going. Keep running home to Him.

After my divorce this is my life now just without the running in the desert. That is all i can do now is to just not give up on Christ and the things he wants me to do to return to our Heavenly Father. Some days it is so hard to not give in to the negative thoughts. But the lord has been there for me even when i do not feel worthy of his attention.

Got sucked in a rip current and my friends made it back to shore without seeing me still out so about an hour of me paddling I finally made it back very tired and sore. Was so close to ditching my surfboard but the spirit told me not to. It’s because I stayed calm prayed many times and was somewhat physically prepared from had been exercising before the trip. Goes to show we need to be prepared in ALL things.

This is like being a returned missionary. So difficult and many distractions along your way but Heavenly Father did His promise that when you're in Lords errand you're entitled and He is obliged to bless us.

I could not love this more. Any who have trained for marathons or ultras have likely experienced many of these same extremes. It is exhilarating and painful. Some days you are on top of the world and on others you seem to barely be able to put one foot in front of the other and you have know idea why. Prayer becomes an integral and reflexive part of your life during the rough phases. Gradual conditioning, varying your exposure, continuity, training partners, measured and intentional exertion, and a thick skin to ward off the doubts of the naysayers are all beautiful commonalities between distance running and our mortal probation.

“You said if I came here, I would find out the truth about myself.” Wow, that penetrated my soul. We came here to be proven, but also to prove to ourselves. On judgment day, we will not disagree with His judgment. In fact, we will find the judgment merciful .

This video was actually the turning point in my life… this video is what pushed me over the edge to take a step towards my dreams instead of just dabbling

Running isn't about the athlete, it's about the mindset...just when you think you're done, you've only begun to explore your capabilities
