Today we uncover the chilling story of Queen Athaliah—the woman who murdered her own grandchildren to secure her grip on power. We explore the historical context of the divided kingdoms of Israel and Judah, the devastating impact of an unequally yoked marriage, and the powerful lessons every parent must learn about the legacy they are modeling for the next generation.

Thank you for bringing this to a new Christian. Found God after a cancer diagnosis. He chose to heal me, God is good!

Wow! Thanks for covering this! My name is Atalia so I am one of the few that actually heard of this woman and read about her. I never went this in depth though so I appreciate this video.

Funny thing is, my name actually means "God is exalted" in Hebrew, which I never understood since I read that she was such an evil woman. But, I see now that it could derive from God and His plan being exalted, despite someone's evilness.

So I will expand upon your Final Lesson, or add a bonus one and say that, no matter how evil a person is and their plans to do evil, God and His plan will always be exalted! 💖

    God bless you, Brother Allen!

The stories of the kings of Israel and Judah are fascinating, but most often, we read them very quickly. Thank you for this lesson.

The reason people don't know this story is that it isn't a big story in the Bible, and it doesn't get the "air time" of other stories. But you bring out the story so we can meditate on it. This is a talent you have! All those names and connections would be lost if you just threw them at us, but you use effective narrative techniques to draw us in and explain the connections that we would normally get lost in the details. Well done, I'm subscribing.

I love hearing these stories. Even the big name preachers still just preach on the same 6 or 8 people. I like hearing of these less known.

Please pray for my 25 yr old daughter. Please pray for her salvation and healing. She left the Lord in her teens. Thank you

Listening to this makes me love the word of God even more. The big picture is Satan attempting to thwart God's promise that was established back in Genesis 3:15.

They're not "characters," they're people. The bible is not fictious, it's not entertainment. Those were not actors playing roles. Those people were real, and the real life events of their actual lives.

Thank you thank you for identifying it correctly as a generational cycle instead of a generational curse

I didn't read the Bible completely until I was around 35 I now have read it more than two dozen times and can't quit, thank you Lord. if you read a couple of pages a day every day you can read the complete Bible in a little under two years, pray and ask God to give you understanding each time and believe you must believe.

It’s funny, I’ve read this story several times but never really dug deep into it like you just did. I feel like we tend to do this quite often when reading God’s word. We just gloss over it, thinking “I know this one already,” but do we? This is the beauty of the Bible for me! No matter how many times I read it I always find new hidden gems and little nuggets I didn’t see before 🙌🙏✝️

I see weak men blaming their women for their lack of leadership and loyalty to their belief systems or philosophy, if they ever had any.

"What would drive a woman to kill her children?"
Me: "Oh, this is about Athaliah, eh? Yeah, don't often hear about this particular story..."
