Being poor is not an excuse to break the law. My husband and I both come from commonly referred to as, "white trash" backgrounds, and neither of us have broken any laws to get where we are now. Poor is no excuse.

I am glad that the Holy Father mentioned the trafficking of people. The Archdiocese of Seattle a few months ago brought up the immigration problems (during the ICE raids and subsequent attacks on ICE), but did not even mention the trafficking issue and that broke my heart.
