The Ark of the Covenant was the dwelling place of God (atop the Mercy Seat) in the Old Covenant. They weren't venerating an icon, they were kneeling in the very Presence of God on earth. In the New Covenant, the Word made flesh, is the eternal dwelling place of the Spirit of the Most High God (and that is not some Triune third spirit person that is distinctly different than the Father of Jesus), but is the only true God, the Father of Jesus Christ (the Temple of God) Himself. A man kneeling before any other person/object is an idolator.
Isaiah 45:23 KJV
I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.
Philippians 2:10-11 MEV
that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven and on earth and under the earth, [11] and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

The only issue i have is that God says he will meet with them above the mercy seat and speak to them from between the cherubim so the ark is a meeting place but they are bowing before God wich is the same as the temple situation but regarding joseph being prostrated before pharoah; pharoah may not be regenerate but he was made in the image of God and he was a real person so obviously that couldnt have been sin in josephs case but a carved and or painted image is not a person its a depiction of a person it is not the image of God like a real person standing before you is i dont have a problem with veneration of the saints but i dont believe that bowing before a depiction of them can achieve that despite the fact that the art is beautiful pictures can tell a story and are good but but we cant make the image of God with our hands these are the reasons i disagree i do like jay i know this isnt his channel but i just thought id share my thoughts thank you

Your explanation of veneration is how the ancient world worshiped idols. They also know that they just made the idol, they believed it was a conduit to the diety.

Psa 135:15 - The idols of the nations are silver and gold,
The work of men’s hands.
Psa 135:16 - They have mouths, but they do not speak;
Eyes they have, but they do not see;
Psa 135:17 - They have ears, but they do not hear;
Nor is there any breath in their mouths.
Psa 135:18 - Those who make them are like them;
So is everyone who trusts in them.

Comparing the Ark of the Covenant and the temple of Solomon to carved images of saints that are created by Orthodox artists is a pretty far reach. God specifically commanded that Israel build the Arc and the temple. They were not making these things by their own will. God specifically declared these things to be holy because he wanted to provide Israel with a physical image that is acceptable for worship.

No matter what it’s still breaking the 2nd and just because they prostrate before people n biblical items doesn’t mean you do it constantly every time.

Galatians 1:8-9, if any man or angel from heaven preaches a gospel contrary to the one already received (the grace of Christ), they are to be accursed (anathema). This strong condemnation from Paul highlights that the integrity of the original gospel message is paramount, superseding any human or angelic authority.
Icon veneration was not preached by any of the original disciples or apostles. It is "another gospel", introduced by the very people Paul warned the churches about. It is a new message introduced after the death of our beloved saints. A lie, a false doctrine and teaching, cursed by GOD.

1:46 does this refute the Eucharist?

Jay you are a liar. You know that the ark is a chair that YHWH sits on. You know that traditionally the image of the deity would be placed on the arkand that YHWH forbade Moses from doing that. YHWH would dwell invisibly ON the ark. Therefore when people bow down in front of the ark they are bowing down to the one SITTED INVISIBLY on it. The ark is NOT an image of YHWH its His chair. That is where YHWH is located. Pathetic.

The Ark of the Covenant was the very presence of YHWH. In no wise does it compare to a painted image of a deceased saint.

God dwelt between the cherubim. They were not "venerating" the ark or the cherubim.

Jay is arguing apples to oranges when he compares bowing to icons and bowing to Elisha etc, one is a hunk of carved wood and the other a highly respected human

Comparing bowing to the Ark which contained the presence of God to forcing people to bow to St Conner of the internet or some random guy as a form of salvation is bonkers. Orthodoxy is just a 2000 year old cult…

The ark, though, had the Lords presence. Icons and statues don't

And another thing…..don’t let these Ortho’s tell you there no penal substitution in Christs death on the cross.
Total bunk…..
Sin, you have to have Law for that. Law, there has to be a Judge/Judgement.
Judgement, has to have a consequence that has to be met, in order for justice to be done.
The whole sacrificial system was built on it.
The old covenant. Read the Guilt offering. The burnt, the sin offering.
Blood HAS to be there. It tells you that this animal, life for life, is in place of you.
Sure, Christ accomplished many more things besides taking our place, our death as the Lamb of God.
You can’t get around penal substitution in atonement theology.
