Born from above into God’s family…what an unspeakable gift. Thank you John MacArthur, John 3 is one of the most important chapters in the entire bible…

I have given my heart to Jesus many many times. Why do I still have doubts, when I try and depend on Him for everything?

You must be born again as Jesus Christ instructed if you want to make into heaven. You must be born of water and the Spirit. Outside of obeying Jesus clear instructions there is no other hope for mankind. It is written.

Note: John had been baptizing people by this time, and Jesus was already baptized in the Jordan before this conversation with Nicodemus.

Like Billy Graham, John’s words are timeless.

Yes, Jesus was already baptized by John the Baptist in the Jordan River (Matthew 3:13–17) before his nighttime conversation with Nicodemus in Jerusalem (John 3:1–21).

    Key Details

    • The Timeline in the Gospels:
    • Jesus' baptism by John the Baptist is recorded early in the Gospel accounts (Matthew 3, Mark 1, Luke 3), marking the official start of his public ministry.
    • The encounter with Nicodemus takes place later in John chapter 3, after Jesus has turned water into wine at Cana and gone to Jerusalem for the Passover (John 2–3).
    • Jesus’ Own Baptism vs. Teaching Nicodemus:
    • Jesus had already received water baptism from John.
    • When Jesus tells Nicodemus that a person must be "born of water and the Spirit" to enter the kingdom of God (John 3:5), biblical scholars debate whether "water" refers to physical water baptism, physical birth (amniotic fluid), or spiritual cleansing, but chronologically, Jesus' own baptism by John preceded this event
