"There are moments in life where words simply aren't enough—and music steps in to carry the weight of our hearts."

Today, October 15th, is National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day. In honor of this day, I wanted to share this very special piece from my series, Songs That Hold You.

"Perfect Way to Start" was written by my dear brother and friend, Craig Aven, out of his own deep personal journey of walking through the heartache of miscarriage. Even though I don’t have children of my own, I know the profound power music has to bring comfort, healing, and hope to places of deep grief.

To every mother, father, and family who carries the quiet ache of a child gone too soon: you are seen, you are loved, and your little ones are never forgotten. May this song wrap around your spirit today and bring peace to your heart.

This is so special. God bless the parents who don't get the extra love and support when they lose a child. It still stings many years later and many who have never experienced miscarriage or losing a child early on may not understand. May this song bring extra peace and a reminder that the same Jesus that loved the children when he came is the same Jesus that these very babies are with. In this life we will experience pains but the reminder is that Heaven and wherever JESUS is, is always the HOPE!

My wife and I have 3 babies waiting for us. The last was our son who was born asleep. This song is a gift.

We lost our sweet baby boy Ronny on July 1st, and tonight, this song absolutely broke us down. We sat and cried listening to it because some songs find their way into the deepest, most broken parts of your heart, and this one did exactly that. ❤️‍🩹

What a beautiful song, brother. I truly believe this is going to touch so many hearts, especially those of us trying to navigate a world that looks nothing like it did before we lost someone we love. Thank you for putting something this beautiful into the world. God bless you, Calvin. 🙏🏻❤️
