Why is billionaire technology investor Peter Thiel warning about the Antichrist—and how does his interpretation compare with Scripture?
In this episode of The Wine Press, Joel Richardson examines the ideas behind Thiel’s Antichrist lectures, including his warning that fear of global catastrophe could lead humanity to exchange freedom for the promise of peace and safety.
We explore his views on artificial intelligence, world government, and the “restrainer” in 2 Thessalonians 2, along with the questions these lectures raise for Christians drawn to his political and theological vision.
Is Scripture shaping our politics—or are our politics shaping how we read Scripture?
As conversations about the Antichrist move from churches into the circles of Silicon Valley and political power, Christians need biblical discernment. Open your Bible and join me as we examine these claims.

Anytime somebody is hanging out in the Masonic lodge, that right away is a tip off. They are promoting a different religion that is not compatible to Biblical Christianity . They recruit among the pews. My family was tied up with it for generations. Stay away from the lodge

Boy did the hamster wheel analogy hit home. I’m in China visiting my wife’s family. I’m so burdened with the lack of any Christian presence in the cities we’ve visited. Currently, my wife and I are in Beijing and will leave very early in the morning. So many that need to know the one true God and Jesus Christ who he sent! My heart is heavy for the Chinese ppl that God will raise up men and women filled with the Spirit of Christ to reach the lost here!

Thank you for this teaching, Joel. I pray that more people will read the Bible. If they don’t read the Bible for themselves, they will be led astray. I know, because that was me. I was saved when I was a child and always believed in Jesus. Today, I am 63. I didn’t read the Bible until I was 59. My mother died and I turned to God’s word for comfort. I was shocked at how much I had wrong and how much I never knew. Now I read it everyday to stay in the truth. Thank you again for this teaching and others that you have presented.

Exegesis is reading what the text says. Eisegesis is making it say what a person wants it to say. Thank you Joel for sticking to SCRIPTURE'S TRUE MEANING. I trust you. Shalom.

No one country is the restrainer... it's the Holy Spirit-filled church that is the restrainer

Dominion theology. Conquer the world so Jesus can return.
Please keep talking sense to us, Joel.

Peter Thiel is not a Christian and he helped JD Vance get elected as a senator in Ohio. And then he brought JD to Mar a Lago to smooth over his relationship with Trump. It worked, JD went from hating Trump to being picked as VP. Something has always bothered me about Vance, maybe it’s his closeness to Theil and Tucker Carlson.
