A live performance of Sultans of Swing by Dire Straits, recorded at one of my gigs.

The video and audio quality are a little rough around the edges, but this is the real thing. No studio, no second takes, no carefully edited performance. Just a live version caught at the gig with audio straight from the camera.

I’ve always loved playing this song live. It’s one of those songs where the guitar gets to do a lot of the talking, it’s still a great one to pull out when the room is right.

Hope you enjoy my take on it.

🎤 STAGE LINES

You’re not scripting the gig. You’re preparing for the unscripted bits.

Stage Lines gives you ready-to-use ideas for those moments nobody rehearses for: no applause, strange requests, walkouts, broken strings, awkward silences and whatever else the room decides to throw at you.

This perfectly sums up some of the points made in your videos. That song, to learn all the twiddly bits, is about an 80 hour investment. And no one there have a single solitary shit. I've been there, brother.

That's the perfect example of you nailing the song perfectly and the audience not giving a f*ck. But the applause at the end prooved the opposite they listened and enjoyed. Such a relief. I could feel for real what you've been talking about in previous videos. It takes nerves of steel to do what you do. Great cover of one of the best songs of all time and very interesting peek at your professional life and environment. Thanks for sharing. 💫🙏

I couldn't turn this off out of respect for the channel. Glad I stuck around. Nailing that perfectly clean solo at the end. So good. It so nicely contextualized everything the channel's about.
