A few years ago, I was down in rural Virginia working. I had to go to a county building to check on a permit. On the bulletin board in there, someone had posted this flyer about a lecture on John Wilkes Booth's supposed escape. Unbelievable how some people can't deal with reality.

I remember when the History Channel ACTUALLY showed History and not pawn shows.

I don't think Dr. Mudd should have even been sent to prison because he didn't even know Booth had assassinated Lincoln at the time he was treating him for his broken leg

I worked with one of Dr. Mudd's great grandsons, who was also a physician. He had one of the medical cabinets which contained some of Dr. Mudd's antique surgical tools in it. It was still a point of contention that Dr. Mudd was ever sent to prison for setting Booth's leg.

History Channel gets the BEST people to look so much like the people in history they are supposed to represent. I guess it’s easier since the actors don’t actually have to say lines, etc. with everything having voiceovers.

If you like non-fiction, "my thoughts be bloody" is a really good book. Goes really in depth about the Booth family.

We as tv 📺 fans should see 👀 at least one historical documentary once in a while.

$100,000 in 1865 is just over 2 million today, not 1.

There was an equally impressive History Channel presentation of the Lincoln Assassination that was narrated by Tom Berenger. It's an excellent documentary, but it is very hard to find today.

I never knew about all of this. All I remembered from school was about Booth, not the others involved and a larger conspiracy. I really learned something here.
