Christians have a new identity in Christ that should be reflected in our lifestyle. Alistair Begg reminds us that walking in a manner worthy of the calling we have received involves speaking truthfully, distinguishing righteous from unrighteous anger, and working diligently in order to give generously. When the Church cultivates this kind of lifestyle, it denies the devil a foothold in our lives and testifies to the power of the Gospel.

Scripture: Ephesians 4:25-28
Preached: June 11, 2017

A vow of poverty, entails working hard, and growing your own food, selling enough to meet your needs, and giving to the poor, as well. Catholic here.❤

Thank you Pastor Begg, the WORD OF GOD truly is the TRUTH FOR LIFE.
    Praise the Lord!
I am puzzled about only one thing, at the end of your prayer, why do you say "for Christ's sake".

JESUS said in John 15:16 "...so that WHATEVER you ask the FATHER in My Name ( as presenting all that I AM), He may give it to you." TO me, this is asking God the FATHER, by the authority of the Lord Jesus, ie; like an ambassador.

Asking FATHER God, for Christ's sake, is like asking for HIS, ie Jesus's benefit.

    WHEN WE PRAY,
we are asking God the Father for SOMETHING, by the authority given to us by Jesus Christ Himself, in other words, we are approaching God the Father through Jesus Christ (the Messiah).

Still trying to understand, you just preached the new, and the necessity of no doing what you use to be free to do by being not your own any more. Then you stated how you listen to old country western music. My question is, for what? There is nothing in there that promotes a separation in you and Christ. Is not your whole self His? All the members of your body go with the marriage. Nothing about us is passive, or can be separated to operate apart from God. We are not wholly His if we have a particular freedom to make some of our own worldly choices such as what we watch, or listen to. It’s very particular that we give our entire lives, not just what we deem as Holy.

As Christians it is very wonderful to try to live without sin,,but it has nothing to do with your salvation as this false teacher is preaching,,,As humans we are already condemned for sin,,,The way of salvation is Faith in Jesus ,,,Faith in the Savior ,,Not our behavior for a savior,,This would be trusting in ourselves for salvation,,trusting in a sinner rather than the Savior This man is preaching a works based salvation ,,and twisted scripture,,,Salvation is though Faith alone,,Doing the will of the father,,and that is to believe in the Son,,Not sure of the denomination of this preacher,,probably Calvinist,,,he is preaching what is called a lordship salvation,,,The concept is earning your salvation though works of self righteousness ,,Totally not Biblical,,the only thing that makes us righteous is Jesus on the cross
