Unpopular opinion, but I genuinely feel the NASB 1995 flows better. It absolutely requires attentiveness like you said, but it’s honestly so beautiful and rich when you learn the flow.

I love the John MacArthur daily bible! You’ll read a portion of OT, Psalm, Proverb & NT daily.

    Just wanted to add... 😇

    1. If the Robert Murray M'Cheyne Bible Reading Plan is too much, you can split it in half and get through the Bible in two years rather than one year. Also I have found Don Carson's For the Love of God (2 vols.) which follows the Robert Murray M'Cheyne Bible Reading Plan to be a kind of helpful devotional from a world class biblical scholar alongside reading the Bible.

    2. Another Bible reading plan I've liked is the Navigators Bible Reading Plan. It echoes M'Cheyne by having 4 readings per day.

    3. For mere mortals (like me) who find 4 readings per day a bit too much, I've also really enjoyed the Navigators Book-at-a-Time Bible Reading Plan. This plan has 2 readings per day which is more do-able for most people, I think. And importantly it has catch up days in case one falls behind.

    4. Finally there's the Bible Reading Chart which is very simple (and colorful). It just lists each of the books of the Bible and their chapters. Just check off each chapter as one goes at whatever rate you wish. A slight danger of this plan is that it allows for tremendous flexibility, so it is not as rigorous, but as long as one is self-disciplined this wouldn't be a problem.

It is an anchor, and it is His words and therefore, it is his love coming through those words.

I've been reading the bible using the Prof. Horner reading plan since I saw this video about 40 days ago. I'm trying to be patient as sometimes I don't remember much of what I read (I wake at 430 most weekdays for my time w/ God) but I can see many connections already. I am noticing more as I read also e.g. noticing the use of the phrase/words "the way" in OT and NT, which I think is pretty cool. I'm going to try it for one year and see what happens! Thank you!

Do a video or series on what makes a healthy church / what the Bible says about church structure and practices / why tradition matters or doesn’t

Thank you Johnny. I admire your work and dedication to exegetical preaching. I’m 43 and relatively new to taking my walk with Christ seriously. I have some catching up to do when it comes to understanding scripture. I have learned a lot from listening to your sermons and look forward to God willing attending a service in person someday. Thank you sir.

The Horner plan is a goal one day!
I just for the first time read through (almost done) my Bible this year. I just did Genesis to revelation straight though, 3 chapters a day. It worked for me as a new mom, simple and attainable, and allowed me to stop and look up things I didn’t understand. I also listened to audio on days that I was struggling. 😅

Thank you so much for your ministry. A new false teaching I recently heard about is therapist suggesting “OCD can hijack” our faith. My oldest son is far from Christ and he is wrapped up in this new false teaching which mainly gives him an excuse for his path of sin.

I would love to hear a dial-in on this subject. Thank you for your faithful teaching — I now have a dial in T-shirt too!

    Great video!
I’ve been reading the Grant Horner in adapted form:

    List 1: Genesis - Deuteronomy
    List 2: Joshuah-2 Kings
    List 3: 1 Chronicles - Job
    List 4: Psalms 1-72 + Proverbs
List 5: Psalms 73-150 + Ecclesiastes + Song of Songs
    List 6: Isaiah - Lamentations
    List 7: Ezekiel - Malachi
    List 8: Matthew - John
    List 9: Romans - Philemon
    List 10: Hebrews - Revelstion + Acts

This way, the lists are a little more balanced imo.
Also, it serves you a full front to back insight everyday.

    God bless, brother
