This song is seriously getting me through college and my crappy part time job. It sucks barely having enough cash for anything. But I know if I keep faith being broke gonna make me rich!!

I didn't think there were any perks to having to go back to work a night shift at Amazon sort center in central Florida after Hurricane Irma, despite the power outage and flooding where I live. Being able to get out of work and ride home to this song is the perk.

Are we just gonna ignore that Lecrae dropped heat without any curse words.

When he says rich, he doesn't mean money, he says in a live performance about rich in character and loyalty to God

This song is on FIAAAHHHHH!!! I must agree though that sometimes i miss the REBEL lyrics and how they were able to put me on my knees in worship, I hope the new album carries some of the same vibe, but I love the fact that the new songs are relatable and are reaching non-Christians. That's the aim in the end.

y'all crae, no pun intended. he ain't talking bout being rich with money. lecrae is contrary to all of the a list rappers rapping about stacking money and material wealth. The message of christ is there, his joy and immeasurable riches in Christ are not defined by his material possession. and when you have nothing distracting You, christ is easier to have a relationship with, hence the hook "BEING BROKE MADE ME RICH" it's metaphorical. please stop judging this man heart. keep it up crae. Awesome message.

Went to his concert last Sunday!! God really used him, the presence and the atmosphere was awesome. Soooo many people from different backgrounds. Nationalities, in one establishment praises God and having a GREAT time. My husband even came out of his comfort zone. Continue to pray for Lecrea, his family and the body of Christ!!

Broke Lyrics
[Pre-Hook: Parfekt]
Being broke in this thing don't sit right
Do it for my folk, tryna get by
I came through the struggle with my head high
You being broke think you know what it feel like
Being broke made me rich, being broke made me rich
Being broke made me rich, being broke made me rich
[Hook: Parfekt]
Gotta keep the stove hot so it cook right, if everybody eating that's a good night
Headed to the lost why I took flight, the hard times made for a good life
Being broke made me rich, being broke made me rich
Being broke made me rich, being broke made me rich
[Verse 1: Lecrae]
Never fell in love with the Coco
Never had to hold up a store with the .44
Never had the door kicked in by the feds
Laying in the bed with the bread that I'm gon' blow
But I do know what it feel like to go to school with the knock off shoes
Eating free lunch, tryna act all cool, boy you better know that we paid our dues
Never would I trade that, nah, 'cause it made me better, it could have made me bitter
You can't ride with the struggle, can't name no figure, but it made me richer
Being broke made me rich, and being low made you quit
But being low made me high, take time if you don't get it
[Pre-Hook: Parfekt]

Headed to the lost is why I took flight, the hard times made for a good life
Being broke made me rich, being broke made me rich
Being broke made me rich, being broke made me rich
[Verse 2: Lecrae]
Money may have made me me richer, but the struggle made me richer than I ever been
Learn the hustle, use ya' muscles, learn to keep ya' mind up on the future, man
Came out the trenches, government assistance in the beginning
Keeping cans for the pennies, we saving that grease after dinner
Now they counting all my pennies, counting all my figures, all up in my business, man
Now they watching what I'm spending, wonderin' what I got, and wonder how I'ma get it, man
I was bought before I had a dollar, being empty handed made me stupid rich
Rich in loyalty, made in royalty, but it's so good, that why I mention it
[Pre-Hook: Parfekt]

"being broke made me rich!" Sums up my life. I may be poor, but I want for nothing because of the blessings God has put on me. I don't need $ if I got Jesus.
