Today I am talking all things TRAVEL JOURNALING. Just the words bring me joy! In this video I will share a few things that I like to think about when I think about travel journaling and share some example from a recent trip to Hawaii with my family. I have trained my husband well, he now asks”Have you got this page?” Last time we visited USA and we were in Key West with friends both of my friends kept asking “Do you need to journal this?!”❤ loved this video!!

If you want to do art but feel like your art is ‘good’ enough, feel free to trace what ever you need. If you aren’t sharing the journal on line (and if you do make sure you give credit) then it really doesn’t matter.

Just like what you mentioned at the end about the similarity between keeping a travel journal and keeping a daily journal, I also noticed that the tips you mentioned can easily be applied to a daily journal because, as cheesy as it sound, life is a journey. 😁 Another lovely video, thank you Amanda

My travel journaling supplies have included a plastic bag to protect my notebook (I use my everyday notebook) and pens, since I've carried those with me in all kinds of weather. I have also dictated journal entries while driving (to transcribe later), when I felt the need to capture the details of an experience as close as possible to the moment. (Back in the day, I used a microcassette recorder.) I don't do a logistics page, but I do include handwritten phone numbers and other useful info, like packing lists and to-do lists. I've always written throughout the day, including jotting down keywords if I can't devote a chunk of writing time at that particular moment, and am also big on capturing dialogue. To turn your words around a bit, I treat my everyday journal like a travel journal. :-)

The next time you visit Hawaiʻi, you should make time to visit ʻIolani Palace and learn about the Kingdom of Hawaiʻi! The palace is beautiful and there is so much to learn that isn't really taught to anyone from the continent. Love your journaling advice and insight!

I love love love your approach to journaling. The lightness and the appreciation towards your art and your journals are so inspiring. I journaled A LOT as a teenage girl but then I stopped when I grew up. I never released how much I missed it. Thank you for sharing your passion!

I love your suggestions of what to capture. I recently was on a family trip and there was a major argument but I wasn’t sure that was something I’d want to remember so I debated a lot about writing it down. But now with your video it made me reflect that every part of the travel has its own beauty even when it’s packaged in a challenge.
